Elevated Electrical & Automation is a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider (ASP) on the Ausgrid network, accredited in all four categories: disconnect and reconnect, underground services, overhead services and metering. That means we are authorised to work on the part of your electrical supply that a standard electrician cannot touch, from the street to your switchboard. What a Level 2 electrician does that a normal electrician can’t

Any licensed electrician can wire inside your home. Only a Level 2 ASP can connect that wiring to the electricity network, or repair and replace the equipment between the network and your meter. In NSW that includes:

• Connecting or disconnecting your property from the Ausgrid network
• Installing, upgrading or replacing consumer mains, overhead or underground
• Installing and replacing private power poles
• Repairing or relocating the point of attachment on your house
• Installing and upgrading meter panels and smart meters
• Upgrading a single-phase supply to three-phase
• Temporary builders supply for construction sites
• Rectifying defects listed on an Ausgrid defect notice
• Emergency repairs when your service mains or barge fuse fail

How a Level 2 job works

1. Quote. Send us photos of your pole, meter box or point of attachment, or the Ausgrid defect notice, and we will quote from that. For larger jobs we come to site.
2. Paperwork. We lodge the connection application with Ausgrid through your electricity retailer where one is needed, and arrange any planned outage.
3. The work. Our own crew and elevated work platform do the job. Most private pole and consumer mains jobs are finished in a day.
4. Sign-off. We lodge the Notification of Service Work with Ausgrid, issue your Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, and close out any defect notice.

What Level 2 work costs in Newcastle

Every job is quoted, but as a guide: a disconnect and reconnect starts from around $1,200, overhead consumer mains from around $2,500, a private power pole from around $3,500 and temporary builders supply from around $4,500. New builds and renovations

We are also the electrician for the whole house. On residential new builds we do rough-in, switchboard, fit-off and the Ausgrid connection as one contractor, and on renovations we handle the new circuits, lighting and switchboard as well as any supply upgrade the renovation triggers. What is a Level 2 ASP electrician?
An electrician accredited under the NSW Accredited Service Provider scheme to work on the service line between the electricity network and a customer’s switchboard. Level 2 ASPs connect and disconnect supply, install and repair consumer mains and private poles, and install meters. Elevated Electrical is accredited on the Ausgrid network in all four Level 2 categories.

When do I need a Level 2 electrician instead of a normal electrician?
Whenever the work touches the supply to your property: a new connection, a consumer mains upgrade, a private pole, the point of attachment, the meter, a three-phase upgrade, temporary builders supply, or an Ausgrid defect notice. A standard electrician is not authorised to do this work.

Do you handle the Ausgrid paperwork?
Yes. We lodge the connection application and Notification of Service Work, coordinate any planned outage and issue the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work.
